5/21/09 Been SO busy, but still losing weight!!

Hi all, my most recent weigh in was Wednesday 5/19/09 weighed in @ 246.8 lbs. I'm only 7.2 lbs away from the goal of 52 pounds I set for 2009.

As you know I am a member of Weight Watchers & am doing the Points method of tracking my food. However something disturbing has happened recently. My last 2 weigh In's I lost 4.4 lbs (5/16) and 3 lbs(5/20). Today when I stepped on the scale @ home I could not believe the number I saw. Knowing that my scale was not the same as WW, I went to a meeting to just check on my weight. I was down another 2.5 lbs. So from my weigh in on 5/6 to today 5/22 I've lost 9.9 lbs. I felt that was too much, and when I consulted with the leader so did she.

She wanted me back up to 39 points (currently @ 35), but I decided that it would be a good Idea to split the difference & go with 37. I plan on doing 37 for the next 2 weeks & see the outcome, if I drop too fast again I'll increase to 39. By the time I get there I'll be down to 38 anyway, but I don't want to overdo it and wind up not losing weight.

Now that goal of being 239.6 by 12/31/09 may be attainable by my 25Th High school reunion on June 13Th!!

When I reach my First goal, (239.6 lbs), my next goal will be 199 lbs by 12/24/09, and my final goal will be at between 170 -- 175 lbs by 5/17/2010.

As of today, I've lost a grand total of 47.3 lbs in 144 days, or roughly 2.4 lbs a week. I haven't been this light in years and I owe it all to Weight Watchers.

5/4/09 -- I know you're out there...

I know there are may people out there that are having difficulty with thier own weight loss. I also know that all you need is to see a person like me, that was once 150 lbs (18 --21 years old), gained over 163 pounds from 21-42 and is finally losing the weight he gained over the last 21 years with the help of Weight Watchers, no drugs, no special food plans, no pre-packaged food. From my high of 313.0 lbs I'm down, 57 lbs. Since I was Officially 291.6 lbs at my first WW weigh in, I'm down 35.6 lbs. since 12/30/08. It's not been easy, I had 2 "+" weeks in the last 17 weeks (+1.8, & +1.6), but I've been positive. There are 3 major changes I made in my life, not Earth Shattering, but key to the weight loss.

1. NO FAST FOOD: McD's, BK, Wendy's ect...
Now not to say there are not good choices at these places, I know for a fact that McD's McNuggets are 1 pt each. A Chick-Fil-A Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich is 5 pts. I just have problems picking the "Best foods" so I just Stay away.

2. Cook Meals @ home (Sorta goes w/ #1): I can make a "Healthy" Whopper or breakfast sandwich from home & save tons of points.
Burger King® Whopper® (w/o Mayo) 11 Pts.
Jennie-O Turkey Burger, w/ Lettuce Tomato, Onion, w/ Arnold Multi-Grain Sandwich Thin is 5 pts. (less than 1/2 the points)

3. Tracking, even if I go over my points for the day, I always know what I eat & how many points I have.

More tomorrow,

5/2/09 - Decided to Blog again

Hi all, I decided that I wanted to Blog again because I'm hoping that others will follow & read this.

For those of you that are new to this blog I started this Journey at 291.6 lbs. and when I went to WW I was assigned 42 points.

Now I'm 256.0 lbs and 36 points. I weighed in @ home this morning & I unofficially weigh 248.8 lbs. I say unofficially because I was not @ WW, on a calibrated scale, and I was in just shorts. I can honestly say that I'm amazed that I've fallen below 250 even if it's not official.

Please comment, ask questions, It will help me stay focused & motivated.
